FAQ
When do I need to RSVP by? Please send your RSVPs by March 1st.
I’m traveling to town, where do I fly into? CHS International Airport is the closest airport, and is about 20-25 minutes away from downtown Charleston.
Where should I stay? Please see the Travel and Stay tab.
I need help with transportation! Contact Jennifer Jefferson of Silver and Gold Transportation at 843-751-6829, or via email silverandgoldtransportations@gmail.com.
How do I get to the venue? Ubers are readily available anywhere in the Charleston/Mount Pleasant/West Ashley Area. If you are staying near The Gibbes, we encourage you to walk! If you are staying downtown, you could also take a rickshaw (very Charleston.) You will not have trouble getting an Uber after the ceremony, there are always plenty.
Is there parking? There are multiple paid parking lots near the Gibbes. 85 Queen Street Garage is 1 block from The Gibbes.
When should I arrive at the Gibbes? The ceremony begins at 5:30pm, so please arrive before then. The museum is open to the public until 5pm, so please arrive between 5 and 5:15pm. Cocktail hour and reception to immediately follow.
What is the dress code? The dress code is Black Tie. We want you to bust out your best looks! Sparkles, feathers, and bold colors are encouraged! Any heel will be fine (no grass to sink into!)
Will the wedding be Accessible if I’m not comfortable with stairs? Yes, there is an elevator available to access any area of the museum.
What is the expected weather? In our opinion, April is one of the most beautiful months in Charleston. Generally (hopefully,) the weather will be in the 70’s. There is always the chance it could be chilly (60’s), or very warm (80’s)! We recommend packing a sweater or jacket just in case.
Do I need to prepare for bad weather? The ceremony will take place indoors, and the reception is outside with a tent. No need for rain boots!
Are children allowed? We love your little ones, but this is an adults only wedding.
Am I allowed a plus one? Unless stated on your invitation, please just bring your lovely self.
What will the food be like? Delicious, of course! We will have light bites during cocktail hour, and a seated, multi-course dinner. Think raw bar, bao buns, unique bites during cocktail, and upscale seasonal for dinner.
I’m vegetarian/vegan, will there be anything for me to eat? We will absolutely be able to accommodate you! Please stipulate on your meal card.
Will there be an open bar? Yup.
What if I don’t drink? We will have N/A options available.
Will there be dancing? There better be! We want to see you strutting your stuff on the dance floor.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony? Sure!
Where should I eat and drink while in town? Suggestions coming soon!
We cant wait to celebrate with you!
